Gentle yoga

This retreat is for you if:

• crave some time to nurture yourself and relax and unwind

• are looking for an invitation to slow down and reconnect with your own rhythm

• be part of a supportive, creative, healing environment engaging in a variety of slow meditative practices designed to support your body and mind in self healing

• long to slow down and be held in nature

Yoga or chair yoga – In our session we will practice gentle hatha yoga also incorporating some restorative poses, including breathing, and a series of postures that promote general well-being as well as relaxation. There will also be a chair yoga option available. I honour yoga as more than a physical practice incorporating yogic philosophy to cultivate presence, self-connection and embodied awareness.

Sound bath – Sound healing is an ancient art used for thousands of years for calming and tuning the mind while re-balancing the body by releasing tension and subtle energetic blockages. A sound bath is a deeply relaxing and simple yet profound way to connect with the centre of our being. You will be bathed in the healing sounds many instruments including Tibetan Singing Bowl, crystal bowls, Gong, Hand pan, Shamanic Drum, Sansula, Koshi Bells, and Rainstick. I will immerse you in a soothing soundscape, playing around and over the body so that the vibrations can be fully absorbed and appreciated whilst you lie down comfortably on a mat. It’s not about listening, it’s about resonance: when the body and sound vibrate at the same frequency, that’s when the magic happens. Sound harmonises, brings balance and heals.

Yoga Nidra meditation – Yoga nidra (also known as yogic sleep) is a wonderful technique for relaxing the body and the mind. Yoga nidra can be as restful and restorative as sleep, where we we learn to be between the states of wakefulness and sleep whilst remaining fully conscious. Yoga Nidra takes us into a state of harmony and restfulness. From here, we can experience healing, restore ourselves and awaken to our deep self. Giving your mind and body an extra window of deep relaxation enables us to enjoy a greater sense of well-being!

Breathwork – Of course we breathe every moment of everyday without even giving it a second thought most of the time, but by harnessing the breath with specific breathing practices we can affect positive changes in our lives. These techniques can slow things down, help pain management, improve sleep and provide tools for dealing with anxiety. Breathwork provides a wealth of strategies for dealing with the uncertainties of our day to day lives.

Mindful Craft – We will create a vibrant and creative space with lots of inspiration for you to create your very own piece of glass art. There will be a huge range of different glass to choose from in shape, colour and texture for you to create whatever takes your fancy! When you book you’ll be able to choose what you wish to create, either a plant stake, hedgehog, suncatcher, robin, panel, or bird. You can either work from a set design or free flow creating whatever design takes your fancy from any of the pieces listed above! After the retreat we will deliver to you your completed glass artwork.

Nature walk – Weather permitting we will enjoy a meditative walk together on the Topstones 14 acre site, enjoying views over rolling countryside with both open fields and trees. Nature is our greatest healer can support our physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Grounding ourselves to the earth by spending time in the countryside promotes a greater sense of overall well-being, both physically and mentally; giving us a sense of stability, security, and rootedness. Through outdoor mindful practices, we can cultivate balance, harmony, and vitality in our lives, aligning ourselves with the natural rhythms of nature and fostering a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of all things. Spending time in natural environments has been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, promoting overall mental well-being. The sights, sounds, and smells of nature can calm the mind, increase feelings of relaxation, and enhance mood.

“A Beautifully Nourishing Experience – I recently attended a retreat day and it was truly a wonderful experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was calm, welcoming, and deeply restorative – exactly what I needed. Claudine brought such a radiant, grounding energy to the day. You could really feel the love and intention behind everything she did. Nothing was too much trouble – she and her family went above and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable, supported, and seen. The time and care they dedicated to the space and the experience were just fab. Each activity was thoughtfully led and complemented the others perfectly. The mandala making was creative and meditative, the sound bath and yoga were deeply relaxing, and the breathwork was powerful and centering. I left feeling lighter, more connected, and truly grateful. Thank you, Claudine, for creating such a special space.” Bharvi

“I had a fabulous day at Claudine’s full day retreat. The location was lovely and peaceful. I really enjoyed the Mandala making, I didn’t realise my creative side. We did lots of meditation including a walking meditation which was very calming. Lunch was delicious and lots of it, especially enjoying the home made brownies. We finished the day with yoga, breath work and a lovely relaxing sound bath. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to escape from the hustle and bustle of life and be surrounded with peace, calm and tranquillity. Cannot wait for the next one.” Fiona
